This VW Polo GTI 1.8 TSI performance exhaust consists of a 3″ / 76.2mm front pipe and 2.5″ / 63.5mm centre and rear and fits from the turbo backwards (Turbo back system) these parts replace the front pipe, standard catalyst, centre and rear sections. The sports cat exhaust version is intended for off road/motorsport use only, not type approved and NOT guaranteed to pass UK MOT emissions test or police road side checks. The de-cat exhaust version is sold for motorsport and off road use only and will NOT be able to pass a UK MOT emissions test or police road side checks The resonated sports exhaust includes the centre silencer and has a subtle but sporty tone. This exhaust is also available as a non-resonated version which is a louder option as it excludes the centre silencer and therefore, has a sportier exhaust note. All relevant fittings and gaskets are supplied. (Except turbo gasket). Press Release The latest vehicle to pass through the Cobra Sport exhaust development process is the MK6 VW Polo GTI 1.8 TSI. Having previously achieved impressive results from the previous 1.4 Polo GTI we were keen to get the new 1.8 litre model in for development to create a new range of Cobra Sport performance exhausts. The larger 1.8 litre engine in the new Polo GTI produces 190bhp as standard matched with an impressive 236 lb-ft of torque giving the lightweight Polo impressive performance figures on paper whilst creating an exhilarating drive. The Cobra Sport team were able to reduce the weight of the exhaust system by an impressive 41% over the OEM system with the resonated 2.5″ cat back system weighing in at only 9.52kg compared to the original 16.20kg. The de-cat and sports cat front pipes have been enlarged to 3″ bore and offer a weight saving of 0.60kg. The new systems benefit from all of the usual Cobra Sport refinements with mandrel bent, TIG welded, grade 304 stainless steel used throughout the systems as standard. You can therefore be assured of only the best quality in a Cobra Sport system. The resonated cat back system offers the subtlest upgrade offering an increase of 10db over the standard system in the 4,000 rpm static test. The resonated cat back exhaust upgrade is designed to provide a purposeful but unobtrusive pitch perfect sound quality which in no way interferes with day-to-day drivability”. The styling of the system is finished off with a choice of twin 3″ and 3.25″ tailpipes in a highly polished T304 stainless steel finish. These options include a less obtrusive oval slash cut version which further compliments the VW Polo GTI aesthetics.
